‘Pleasurable Consumption’ – What is it? And Why it makes all the difference, In You enjoying & making the Most of Life.
Written by Talia on August 22nd, 2008I first heard of ‘Pleasurable Consumption’ some 10 years ago, and have since expanded the concept to embrace more and more in my life.
Most of us don’t live on a deserted Island, and more accurately we depend on many people, systems and tangible things moment to moment and day to day, to make our lives possible if not to make it easier.
Consumption is what you use in life.
Whether it’s your ‘fingers’ or your ‘Ferrari’, it is what you have in your life, what you use, make use of, and depend upon, the things that you surround yourself, including the people that are around you.
‘Pleasurable Consumption’ is at it simplest the idea of enjoying what you have in your life.
The simple logic being : that if you already must depend on a multitude of things to sustain & support your life, what better decision or action than the decision & action to really truly and fully acknowledge, fully use, fully appreciate, and fully give credit to that what has supported you and made your ‘life’ possible as you know it , and probably better than you could hope for.
If you can live your life from this lens of fully appreciating & utilizing (which is the highest form of flattery)what you already have in your life, not only will this make your life fuller and more enjoyable, but is Most Likely to attract more good in your life.
The more you can enjoy what life brings your way, the more you amplify the ‘Good’ in your life.
Actually you can have it be ‘good’ by your saying so, because it is possible to transform what ‘ Is’ by the way you ‘See it ’ and ‘call it ’, so that even the so called ‘bad’ in your life, can have some good or benefit to it if you are willing to find the good and affirm that in your thought and awareness.
So as they say: “ Get rid of dull Dogs that spread Blue”, be the pack leader in your life, and have your life be just as you wish it to be.
To your Healthy Life,
